A verbal altercation between two drivers escalated into an unidentified victim's demise during the early morning of Nov. 5 in the 100 block of Kensington Place, in the King’s Grant neighborhood of Summerville off Dorchester Road.

According to a Dorchester County Sheriff's Office report, shots were fired at approximately 8:17 a.m., and one person was struck. The injured party, who died at the scene, was found in the roadway of the Kings Grant residential subdivision.

While one driver was detained and cooperated with investigators, per Lt. Rick Carson, Michael Anthony Pressley II, 29, of Ladson was identified as a suspect of interest, as the DCSO subsequently obtained an arrest warrant for his capture. 

Pressley has reportedly been charged with voluntary manslaughter.

The release states that "the investigation continues and detectives are requesting contact from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or behavior leading up to the incident." 

UPDATE: The Dorchester County Coroner's Office has identified the casualty as Zachary Campbell, 30, of Summerville, who was shot after an apparent altercation on Kensington Place at Stratford Drive. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by the coroner at 10:20am.

Campbell will undergo an autopsy at the Medical University of South Carolina, on Tuesday.
